Gay Andrews was a very special employee who managed the Medical Surgical and Intensive Care Unit at Ashland Community Hospital. Her dedication to conscientious and quality nursing and her love of life left a lasting mark on all who worked with Gay. The blue heron sculpture in the garden represents the animal that Gay felt most closely represented herself. She once said that, like blue herons, nurses are keenly and quietly aware of their surroundings and quick to jump to action when needed. A professional nurse for over 20 years, Gay Andrews is deeply missed by her former staff and all the employees at Ashland Community Hospital who knew her.
