Maple Street Café Renovation Underway

Thanks to a generous donor the Hospital Cafeteria is getting an update

Over the past several years, Bob Holbrook has shown his appreciation for the staff at Asante Ashland Community Hospital by funding the remodel of staff breakrooms in the Family Birth Center, Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical Unit, and the Lab. Delayed for over a year due to the pandemic, the renovation of the Maple Street Café has now begun thanks once again to Bob’s support.

The café refresh will include new floor coverings, paint, furniture, lighting, cabinetry, counters and more! Once COVID restrictions are lifted, patients’ family members and visitors to the hospital will be able to enjoy a meal in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. But most important to Bob, staff will be able to recharge in the “ultimate breakroom” which will have the look and feel of an intimate café.

Although Bob has moved out of the area, he is staying engaged through regular updates and photos on the progress of the renovation. “The current cafeteria project is just the icing on the cake”, says Bob as he recounted the pleasure he took in being part of the breakroom renovations. “I feel a great sense of completion.”

Ashland Community Hospital Foundation is profoundly grateful to Bob for his support and for the care and regard he has shown to the staff at Asante Ashland. And we are all looking forward to the completion of the café renovation in May.
