True or False
Trivia Night at Louie’s Restaurant a Success?
True! On Wednesday, June 26th Louie’s hosted a sold-out evening for Not Your Grey’s Anatomy Trivia Night. The restaurant was bursting at the seams, and at their 70 person capacity. Asante Ashland employees, volunteers, friends and family did not disappoint, and were well represented with a number of teams. There were also team members from Asante Physician Partners, a team from Rogue Regional Medical Center, and a team of current and former OHSU Nursing Students. Names like Mitochondria is the Powerhouse of the Cell, Haldol and the Benzo’s, and Lord have MRSA showed off team creativity and kicked off a night of laughs.
Trivia night emcee, Tom DuBois and restaurant owner Melissa Jensen crafted a game that both challenged attendees and kept them entertained. Trivia categories included things like Nip/Tuck, Dem Bones, and Another One Bites the Dust to name a few. At halftime teams competed in a Name that Doctor quiz which included famous doctors Ruth, Seuss, and Oz.
In the end, a team of community members, rumored to be “professional” trivia players, racked up over 200 points and won it all in the battle for first place.
While the evening was fun, it also helped do good things for Asante Ashland. In June, members of the Employee Campaign Committee worked hard to sell $20 gift cards to Louie’s Restaurant. In total 128 cards were sold, many of which were used at trivia night. The restaurant donated $10 of every card sold back to the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation for a total of $1,280 raised. The proceeds will benefit the Education and Professional Development Fund, which supports advanced certifications and specialized credentials for Asante Ashland employees.
Thank you to everyone who has participated by purchasing Louie’s cards in June, and to those who came out for trivia night.
